Facing the challenges of the housing crisis and the constant demand for staff accommodation, RFBI came up with their own immediate solution: Sonic Steel Container Homes. 

The brief was to create self-contained one-bedroom units for a training nurse’s occupancy. The space requires a double bedroom, a bathroom, full kitchen, a lounge and a small working area. Packed with Sonic Steel’s VenSulation system and underfloor insulation, Velux skylight, double glazed windows and doors, comfort was our priority. The open bathroom layout with the Pan Fan system ensures a smell-free toilet and a fresh space between the bedroom and kitchen. The kitchen bench is extended to form the multi-purpose dining bench/ working space. 

With the surrounding context of a retirement village, the container homes needed to blend in; Formflow cladding system was installed to achieve the aesthetics of the flashing-free corners.
